1 c shortening
2 c brown sugar
3 eggs
2 c applesauce
2 t soda (added to applesauce)
4 c flour
½ t salt
½ t cloves
1 t nutmeg
1 ½ t cinnamon
2 c chopped nuts
Choc chips if desired
Mix ingredients together and drop by spoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet and bake at 400 degrees for 10-12 mins.
